FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's golf matched its first day total shooting 306-306 - 612 to stay in 19th place at 2008 NCAA Western Regional.
The Lincoln Hills Golf Club near Sacramento, Calif., continues to prove difficult with only one team in the 21-team field shooting under par. Fresno State is 36-over par after two rounds and need a significant leap to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

"We have nothing to lose tomorrow," said 2008 WAC Coach of the Year, Angie Cates. "We need to go out there and take advantage of every opportunity. This has been a valuable experience for a young team and we want to leave on a good note."
Junior Taylor Siebert continues to lead the Bulldogs tying for 27th place. Siebert shot 73-75 - 147 entering the third round with two-over par 146. Siebert, who started on the 12th hole was five-over par through 11 holes. With an eagle on the par four fifth hole, Siebert shot par on hole six and birdied holes seven, eight and nine.
Senior Laura Luehke carded 77-75 - 152 to tie for 61st place with eight-over par. The other counting scores came from Pia Escandon and Hali Coppin. Escandon shot two rounds of 77 to stand tied for 74th place and Hali Coppin had two scores of 79. Freshman Chelsea Czinski carded 80-80 - 160.
The tournament will continue with the third and final round on Saturday. The top eight teams from the three-round tournament will advance to the NCAA Championships.
